“To strive, to seek, to find, but never to yield”,is a popular quote from Alfred Lord Tennyson’s Ulysses. Many a great person, by their lives, have inspired their fellow-men to keep moving on, even in the face of the most trying circumstances. They have inspired, and will continue to inspire generations to come.
One such person, by his will to serve humankind, has left an indelible impression in the world of the physically challenged. The spark kindled by this young man – Velan Raghuvir, is now a raging fire, but one that gives warmth to the lives of the physically challenged. The man, by his determination, reiterated the fact that age can never be a deterrent to achieve – to make a world of difference to his less-fortunate brethren. Velan was only nineteen and a half years old when he decided to initiate a movement to emancipate the lives of the physically challenged, even as he painfully but gracefully endured the dreadful Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy that gradually eroded his life. Thus were the seeds of the Foundation sown, which is now rendering yeoman service to the physically challenged population.
